Following a hearing, the High Court of Cassation and Justice has decided to replace pre-trial detention with judicial control for 14 defendants accused of actions against the constitutional order. They are banned from leaving Romania, from taking part in public gatherings and from possessing weapons, and are obliged to wear electronic surveillance devices. The court stressed that violation of these conditions can lead to more severe measures. The defendants are involved in criminal activities related to the initiation of an extremist organization.
