The Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, announced the start of the design for section 2B Grințieș-Pipirig of the A8 Highway, with a value of 5.97 billion lei.

The Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, announced on Monday the issuance of the Order to commence the design phase for section 2B Grințieș-Pipirig, the most complex segment of the A8 Highway, with a length of 31.5 kilometers. The contract, worth 5.97 billion lei, was signed at the end of October, and the works will begin in 2027, with a duration of 54 months. The section includes 16 tunnels, 60 bridges and viaducts, of which the longest bridge is 1,275 meters. The project will ensure important road connections, including a junction near Tulgheș. Additionally, State Secretary Irinel Ionel Scrioșteanu announced the validation of the winner for section 1 D Joseni-Ditrau, valued at 821 million lei, funded by European funds.
