Ilie Bolojan announced that, following last year's government meeting, there will be staff reductions at the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) and other public institutions, including the Prime Minister's Chancellery. This is part of a broader plan to reduce public sector salaries by 10% and the maximum number of positions by 30%.
Former Minister of Economy, Radu Miruță, pointed out serious issues at ANPC, where commissioners do not register the minutes of fines, leading to significant financial losses for the state. In the first months of 2025, the number of unregistered minutes increased, and the total losses amounted to 15.6 million lei. Miruță called for a detailed audit to identify those involved in these irregularities, emphasizing the need to improve transparency and accountability in the management of fines.
