Târgoviște County Hospital launches investigation following a patient’s death

Târgoviște County Emergency Hospital launched an internal investigation on Thursday following the death of a patient who had been admitted to the medical facility. The internal checks are being conducted in parallel with the investigation by the competent authorities to establish the circumstances in which the death occurred.

The case was made public by the patient’s relatives through posts on social media. They claim there are serious suspicions of medical negligence and are calling for justice. According to information provided by the family, the patient went to the Emergency Department, was admitted, and was later transferred to the intensive care unit.

The relatives filed a criminal complaint for involuntary manslaughter with the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Târgoviște District Court. The criminal investigation is ongoing and will establish whether there were breaches of medical protocols or other irregularities in the patient’s care.

The management of Târgoviște County Emergency Hospital conveyed its condolences to the family and said it would cooperate with the investigating authorities. For now, the medical facility’s representatives have provided no details about the cause of death or any potential responsibility.
