Gheorghe Roman, a man from Satu Mare County, accused the Negrești-Oaș Town Hospital of serious medical negligence after he was stitched on the face without the on-call doctor removing a wooden splinter left in the wound. The incident occurred after Roman injured himself while cutting wood, and the on-call doctor, specialized in obstetrics-gynecology, cleaned and stitched the wound, ignoring the foreign body.
For a month, the patient's condition deteriorated, and severe infections occurred, prompting him to present himself at another hospital, where doctors surgically intervened to remove the wood remnants. Roman hired a lawyer and filed a criminal complaint, and the hospital management initiated an internal investigation to assess the circumstances of the incident.
