A resident doctor committed suicide at the Bucharest Emergency University Hospital

A 28-year-old resident doctor died by suicide on Wednesday at the Bucharest Emergency University Hospital, according to a statement from the medical institution.

The hospital expressed regret for the loss suffered and conveyed condolences to the family and colleagues. The circumstances and causes of this incident are being investigated by the competent authorities. According to ISU Bucharest-Ilfov, the doctor reportedly jumped from a floor, and the police have cordoned off the area to conduct investigations.

Emergency crews intervened, but the doctor was declared dead at the scene. The case will be taken over by the Prosecutor's Office next to the Bucharest Tribunal, along with the Homicide Service, and the body will be transported to the National Institute of Legal Medicine for autopsy.
