A Spanish woman and a man have been placed in preventive custody in Romania for trafficking 7.1 kg of cannabis introduced into the country by courier.

The police and DIICOT prosecutors from Hunedoara have detained and placed in preventive arrest two Spanish citizens, a 36-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, for the introduction and sale of 7.1 kg of cannabis in Romania. The crimes they are being investigated for include the introduction of risk drugs into the country and trafficking of risk drugs. In October 2025, the man procured the cannabis from Spain, and the woman introduced it into the country through a transport company. The two were caught in the act in the municipality of Arad, immediately after they unloaded the drugs from the luggage and were heading towards the man's car. The Hunedoara Tribunal ordered their arrest for 30 days.
