In his speech at the PSD Congress, Sorin Grindeanu emphasized the need to transform the party into a proactive one that offers solutions and does not shy away from the criticisms of the Right. He stated that he also assumes the candidacy to give a new direction to the PSD, refusing toxic complicities and the desire to seek approval from those who contest the party.


Grindeanu recalled the historical achievements of the PSD and invited reconciliation between the generations of the party, highlighting the importance of respecting social-democratic roots. He also thanked former leaders for their contributions, highlighting key moments in Romania's history. Grindeanu concluded by honoring the memory of former president Ion Iliescu, emphasizing the PSD's commitment to remain a united and strong party.
