Smartwings, the Czech Republic's largest air carrier, will start direct flights between Bucharest and Prague from October 2024, following the takeover of Czech Airlines operations. Founded in 1997, Smartwings serves over 40 destinations in 25 countries, with Prague Václav Havel Airport as its main hub. The company specializes in charter and commercial flights to tourist destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
