Searches in Timiș for thefts of photovoltaic panels

The police of Section 5 Rural Police Belinț, coordinated by prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Lugoj Court, conducted six home searches in a criminal case of aggravated theft.

Between January and May, two men, aged 37 and 40, allegedly repeatedly stole photovoltaic panels, inverters, and other components from telecommunications stations in the localities of Babșa, Lucareț, Nevrincea, and Jupa. The estimated damage amounts to approximately 60,000 lei.

Following the searches, 40 photovoltaic panels, four inverters, and four batteries were identified and seized. The 37-year-old man was detained for 24 hours and will be presented to the judges for preventive measures.

The action was supported by several police departments and gendarmes, and investigations continue to establish the entire criminal activity of the individuals involved.
