On Wednesday, the police from the Municipality of Lugoj conducted searches in the localities of Timiș and Caraș-Severin, targeting individuals suspected of thefts from railway construction sites. The operation was coordinated by a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Lugoj Court and involved 8 search warrants.

In the period 2025-2026, unknown individuals repeatedly stole goods such as iron profiles used in railway construction, with an estimated damage of over 50,000 euros. Following the searches, 207 iron profiles and other construction materials were discovered and seized. Six suspects were taken to the police station for questioning, and investigations are ongoing.
