Influencer associated with Călin Georgescu, searched after a fake control filmed on TikTok

The police in Timișoara conducted a search at the home of Alin Borcan, a well-known influencer in the online environment for his support of Călin Georgescu, after he published a TikTok video in which he imitated a control by the National Authority for Consumer Protection. Dressed similarly to the former head of ANPC, Cristian Popescu Piedone, Borcan entered a store and claimed to be conducting official checks. Investigators are looking into him for usurpation of official qualities, and the case is being investigated under the coordination of prosecutors. The influencer has also been targeted by authorities in the past, in connection with investigations related to individuals who promoted Călin Georgescu's candidacy online.
