Sameday is introducing a TollRo index for deliveries, and transport costs may increase starting October 1, 2026

Sameday will increase the costs of certain delivery services starting October 1, 2026, by introducing a dedicated TollRo index, the new road taxation system intended for heavy goods vehicles. The measure will affect transport carried out within the company’s distribution network, including routes between hubs.

The company informed its partners that it will not include the TollRo cost in a general increase in base rates, but will show it separately. According to the notice, the index will be variable and could be adjusted periodically, depending on the expenses generated by the new taxation system. As a result, customers could pay more for certain services, even if the base rate remains unchanged.

TollRo is set to be implemented by CNAIR on the same date. The charge may be paid by purchasing a route ticket in advance or based on the distance traveled, recorded through the TollRo mobile app. Payment will be made from an electronic wallet.

The system applies to goods transport vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes that travel on motorways, expressways and national roads. The fee will be calculated based on distance, road type, vehicle weight and EURO emissions class. TollRo is regulated by Law 226/2023 and replaces, for heavy vehicles, the model based exclusively on the road vignette.
