The drone that fell in Galați has an explosive charge: over 200 people evacuated

The fragments of the Shahed drone that fell in Galați on Saturday morning are still loaded with explosives. Over 200 people within a 200-meter radius have been evacuated, after Russian forces resumed attacks on Ukraine. Bogdan Toma, spokesperson for the Department for Emergency Situations, stated that the evacuation is a preventive measure.

The drone will be transported to a safe area to be destroyed according to legal procedures. The incident was preceded by the detection of several drones near the border with Romania, and Romanian authorities scrambled fighter jets to monitor the situation. The Ministry of Defense condemned the actions of the Russian Federation, highlighting the risks to regional and NATO collective security. So far, no casualties have been reported, and the damages have been minimal.
