Aleksei Fadeev, an official from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Russia rejects the claims made by the Romanian side, emphasizing that it does not intend to withdraw its ambassador from Bucharest for consultations. This reaction comes following the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Romania, announced on July 27, after the Romanian Air Forces shot down three drones of Russian origin in national airspace.
Fadeev mentioned that Romania's gesture is considered unfriendly and "will certainly receive an appropriate response," determined by the Russian Ministry depending on the circumstances. Additionally, the ambassador of the Russian Federation was summoned to the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to receive a protest, and the Romanian ambassador in Moscow was recalled for consultations. This situation reflects the tensions between the two countries in the context of recent aerial incidents.
