The Electronic Identity Card (CEI) will be available to apply for and pick up at any registry office starting August 1, 2025, facilitating access for those temporarily residing in other counties. Applications can be submitted online on the official platform, and priority for appointments will be given to people with expired documents and 14-year-olds. CEI is free on first application for young people under 14 until 2026, and will cost 70 lei thereafter.
