In Galați County, Romanian and American tanks were involved in a complex military exercise, conducted over the course of a week at the Smârdan range. The American forces conducted a show of force, including live ammunition firing, which allowed for a comparison between the combat platforms. The Romanian TR-85 tank was praised for its reliability, while the Abrams tanks highlighted the advantages of modern control technologies. The main goal of the exercise, named 'Bandido Forge', was to enhance cooperation between Romanian and American soldiers, contributing to the development of interoperability within NATO. The exercise was considered a success by American officials, who praised the skills of the Romanian soldiers. After this exercise, the American forces will move to the Novo Selo range in Bulgaria for additional activities.
