The project to introduce voluntary military service targets young people, both boys and girls, who will be able to complete a paid four-month internship and will remain in the reserves of the Romanian Army. Moșteanu emphasized that the current reserve is aging, considering that mandatory military service was eliminated in 2007. The Ministry of Defense will propose amendments to allow young employees to benefit from a special four-month leave to participate in the program. Additionally, Moșteanu ruled out the possibility of reintroducing mandatory military service, emphasizing the importance of a professional army.
