President Nicușor Dan declared on Monday, alongside his Israeli counterpart, Isaac Herzog, that the relationship between Romania and Israel is strong at the political, economic, and human levels. In the context of the visit of the President of Israel, which coincides with the commemoration of 85 years since the Pogrom in Iași, Dan emphasized the historical importance of the ties between the two countries.

He mentioned that the community of Israelis originating from Romania has played a significant role in the development of the State of Israel. Nicușor Dan paid tribute to the victims of the pogrom and emphasized the collective responsibility to prevent the recurrence of such events, calling for firmness in combating the hate speech that has increased in the present. This statement reflects Romania's commitment to maintaining a close relationship with Israel and promoting values of tolerance and respect.
