Romania exported in 2025 military parts worth at least 35 million euros to Israel, primarily for the arms giant Elbit Systems, discreetly transported on Tarom and HiSky commercial flights, based on official authorizations, while a UN report places our country on the list of states that have fueled the war machinery accused of genocide in Gaza, a Snoop investigation shows.
A UN report included Romania among the countries with the largest military exports to Israel, in the context of the conflict in Gaza, which has led to the death of over 70,000 Palestinians. Although Romanian authorities have not communicated transparently about these trade relations, the Israeli Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for Romania's support.
Snoop identified 29 exports to Elbit, most of which were spare parts. The Ministry of Transport confirmed that Tarom transported military components, having authorization according to legislation. Control over these exports is fragmented, and ANCEX does not have information about the commercial flights used. The company G.R.R. International, involved in these exports, produces components for the military industry and was founded by a former director of Romarm, Ioan Gărbacea. Its representatives claim that they comply with the legislation and do not get involved in the end use of the delivered products.
