The Minister of Energy convened the National Energy Command to assess the situation of the energy system under severe winter conditions. He assured that there are no unserved consumers and that the electricity system is operating stably, without interruptions caused by the weather. Natural gas storage is filled to 65%, exceeding the European Union average and having a surplus of 200 million cubic meters compared to last year.

Romania has the necessary capacity to cope with increased consumption, and domestic production, extraction from storage, and imports are balanced. It was also mentioned that production units are constantly monitored, and rapid interventions in case of technical incidents have not affected the supply to the population. Despite the warnings of frost, with temperatures dropping to minus 19 degrees, Romania remains safe with solid reserves and assured supply.
