The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Energy, Cristian Bușoi, announces that Romania’s gas storage facilities are 79% full, above the European average

Romania’s natural gas storage facilities are 79% full, a level sufficient to cover the needs of the winter period, said Cristian Bușoi, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy. The storage level is above the European average, and the authorities estimate that it will reach 80% by the end of the month.

According to the official, Romania is set to comply with the European regulation on preparing storage facilities for the cold season. The rules stipulate that each country’s gas storage facilities must be 90% full at the beginning of winter.

Cristian Bușoi’s statement indicates that Romania is at an advanced stage of preparation for the cold season, with a storage level above the European average. The increase to 80% is expected to take place by the end of the month, while reaching the 90% threshold remains the objective laid down by European regulations for the beginning of winter.
