Minister Cătălin Predoiu met with the ambassador of Qatar to discuss cooperation in security and technology

Cătălin Predoiu, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Romania, had an official meeting with Rashid Abdullah Mohammed Al Sheikh Al-Kuwari, the Ambassador of Qatar to Romania, to discuss cooperation in the field of security.

The meeting, which took place on May 20, 2026, reconfirmed the excellent bilateral relations and the common interest in strategic collaboration in internal affairs. The two officials emphasized the importance of developing modern collaboration mechanisms, especially in the context of current security challenges. The discussions focused on the digitization of law enforcement activities, cybersecurity, and the use of emerging technologies. Predoiu highlighted the need to attract Qatari companies to Romania and underscored the significant potential of the partnership between the two states. In the end, it was agreed to continue the institutional dialogue and deepen cooperation in the field of internal affairs.
