Severe drought is affecting the whole country because of the heatwave, and in some counties, people are getting water by the portion. Authorities recommend drinking water for domestic use only, and maize and sunflower crops are already affected. Farmers in Oltenia fear poor harvests and water restrictions are being imposed in Gorj and Constanța. Locals face dry springs and old water networks are unable to cope with increased demand.
