The Minister of Education, Daniel David, announced the approval of the ordinances for the reorganization of vocational and technological education in Romania, which will come into effect in the school year 2026-2027. This decision comes as a result of the implementation of Law 198/2023, which imposes constraints but also freedoms for various educational institutions and economic operators.
David emphasized that the new model will replace the old system of "vocational schools," providing students with more options and advantages. According to the new system, students will be able to obtain a level 3 qualification on the technological pathway after the 11th grade, having the option to follow a dual program or not. The minister is currently on a visit to Switzerland to ensure that the reforms are well-founded.
