Last year, 7,274 companies and PFAs went into insolvency, up 9.38% since 2023. Bucharest recorded the highest number of insolvencies.

According to ONRC data, Bucharest recorded 1,375 insolvencies, followed by Bihor, Cluj, Timiș, Iași and Ilfov counties. The fewest insolvencies were recorded in Covasna, Harghita, Mehedinți and Vaslui. The areas with the highest number of insolvencies are trade, construction and manufacturing.
