On Sunday evening, the railway traffic in the Craiova Regional area was halted after a freight train passed the stop signal.

A freight train belonging to the operator Vest Trans Rail passed a signal indicating 'stop', switching to track number 2 and stopping on the current line. The dispatcher intervened quickly, contacting the driver of train RE 2522 to prevent a collision, and it was withdrawn to HM Vlăduleni. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Passengers of train RE 2522 were transported by buses to Caracal station, and the transfer for train RE 2011 will be organized on the Caracal - Vlăduleni route. Rail traffic will remain halted until the necessary interventions to ensure safety are completed.
