Raed Arafat, after a drone hit a building in Galați: "We issued the RO-Alert message, it was the second message we issued that night / The population should understand that the messages we send are necessary"

Raed Arafat, head of the Department for Emergency Situations, stated on Friday morning, in an intervention on Digi24, that citizens should pay attention to Ro-Alert messages, following the crash of a drone on a block in Galați.

The warning was issued a few minutes before the incident, which caused material damage but no casualties. Arafat mentioned that one apartment and two staircases were affected, and two people were slightly injured. The residents of the block remain evacuated until structural checks are carried out by the authorities.

Arafat emphasized the importance of respecting alert messages, reminding that, although the likelihood of such incidents is low, they do happen. He recommended the population to protect themselves in case of emergency by staying away from windows and seeking shelter.
