The presidential advisor Radu Burnete states that Romania needs to invest in distribution networks, storage capacities, and the production of renewable and nuclear energy to rapidly reduce energy costs.
He believes that gas from the Black Sea has been a temporary support, but it is essential to encourage large companies to become regional players, eliminating political influence. Burnete emphasizes that, due to insufficient public funds, attracting private investments is necessary, which can be facilitated through simple taxes and the elimination of bureaucracy.
He also acknowledges the structural disadvantages of Europe compared to the USA and China, but emphasizes that cheaper and cleaner energy is possible through massive investments in the next decade.
