The protest in Victory Square gathered hundreds of people protesting against the annulment of the December 2024 elections and expressing their support for Călin Georgescu, the eliminated candidate. The atmosphere became tense, with the first violent demonstrations between protesters and gendarmes. The latter intervened to restrict access to the government building. At the same time, Călin Georgescu was fined significantly for violations related to the processing of personal data in his electoral campaign, which sparked further controversy.
