Prosecutor sentenced to 8 years in prison for rape

The Bacău Court of Appeal sentenced the prosecutor from Iași, Daniel Bosânceanu, to eight years in prison for rape, a decision that is not final. Between September 2015 and June 2017, Bosânceanu forced a 15-year-old girl to engage in sexual acts through physical violence and threats of death. The victim was compelled to have sexual relations both in an apartment and in a car, in isolated places. The case was initially closed but was reopened at the insistence of the Attorney General, and the trial was transferred to the Bacău Court of Appeal, which has now issued a first decision.
