The prosecutors from the SUPC conducted searches at the office and car of Gigi Valentin Ștefan, former general prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office next to the Court of Appeal Constanța, where they found significant amounts of money, estimating that over 100,000 euros were discovered just in the office.

Gigi Valentin Ștefan and his colleague, Teodor Niță, have been brought under warrant to Bucharest for questioning. According to the 2023 asset declaration, Ștefan reported a modest fortune, but judicial sources claim that he leads a luxurious life.

His son, David Ștefan, is seen with luxury cars, including a BMW M5 and a McLaren GT, and the properties are associated with companies linked to the prosecutor's family. The SUPC announced that it is conducting 13 searches as part of an investigation into corruption offenses.

Teodor Niță stated that he has no status in the criminal case.
