The price of diesel has risen again, reaching 7.44 lei per liter, ahead of the increase in excise duty and VAT on August 1, when fuel will become significantly more expensive

On July 14, the price of diesel rose again to 7.44 lei per liter, while gasoline remained at 7.07 lei. These increases come two weeks before the scheduled excise and VAT hikes, which will bring the price of diesel close to 8 lei and gasoline to 7.6 lei. Over the past month, prices have risen by 1% for gasoline and 4% for diesel, and Romania consumes about 8 million tons of fuel annually.
