Four Polish citizens were rescued by mountain gendarmes after they became stranded in the Plaiul Muierii area, the intervention lasting approximately 5 hours.

On the night from Friday to Saturday, four Polish tourists were trapped in an alpine hollow at an altitude of 1900-2000 meters, in the area of Plaiul Muierii, between the counties of Hunedoara, Vâlcea, and Alba. The emergency call was made at 00:10, and the intervention teams, made up of mountain gendarmes from Hunedoara and Vâlcea, arrived at the scene in about 2 hours. The tourists did not require medical care, and the intervention was successfully completed around 05:00, when they were safely escorted to Petroșani.
