The two tried to descend a marked route, but they forced a direct path, ending up in an inaccessible area, above the cliffs in Padina lui Raie. The rescue mission was extremely difficult, with rescuers having to climb up to Vârful Ascuțit and follow the tracks in the snow. After 10 hours of intense searching, the two were found around 2:30, and the rescuers decided to withdraw through Padinile Frumoase. The rescuers emphasized that the lack of GSM signal and the inadequate equipment of the tourists could have led to a tragic outcome. The action concluded at 6:30, after a night full of challenges.
