Three young Ukrainians, aged between 24 and 26, were stranded for three days on the Pop Ivan Peak in Maramureș, in a rocky and hard-to-access area.
They requested help from the authorities after they could no longer advance due to difficult conditions and low temperatures, suffering from hypothermia.
The mountain rescuers from Maramureș, together with the Border Police from Valea Vișeului, launched a rescue mission in this extremely difficult area.
The exact location of the young people was identified with the help of the Special Telecommunications Service. Rescue teams from Vișeu and Borșa are making sustained efforts to bring them to safety.
