A police officer from the Bucharest Regional Transport Police would have demanded and received 9000 lei from the drivers of a passenger transport company, between July 2025 - February 18, 2026.

The money was collected by an employee of a bus station in Bucharest, in installments of 600 lei, twice a month. In exchange for these amounts, the officer promised that he would not conduct checks on the minibuses operating between the Capital and the north of the country, transiting the Otopeni Airport area. The police officer was caught in the act while receiving a cash installment, and prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office next to the High Court of Cassation and Justice initiated criminal proceedings for continuous bribery, having identified 15 material acts.
