Ionuț Stroe, PNL deputy, announced that he will submit a bill in Parliament to amend the legislation regarding the funding of political parties and electoral campaigns. The project aims to prohibit the use of subsidies from the state budget for activities that affect Romania's image, spread disinformation, or promote hate speech. This initiative was generated by the accusations made by Dragoș Sprinceana, according to which George Simion lobbied in the USA against the Visa Waiver program.

Stroe emphasizes that it is unacceptable for taxpayers' money to be used to weaken Romania's international position or to act against the interests of citizens. He believes that public subsidies should support democracy, not finance smear campaigns.
