The PNL deputy from Brăila, Alexandru Popa, announced the intention to propose the introduction of chemical castration for individuals convicted of sexual abuse against children under 14 years old. In a video posted on Facebook, Popa used harsh language, calling the offenders "monsters" and emphasizing that they do not deserve to live in society. The project aims to apply this measure to those who, after serving their sentence, return to the community, leaving victims with long-term trauma. Although he acknowledges that the measure may seem extreme, Popa considers it insufficient in relation to the severity of the committed acts.
