AUR Senate leader Petrișor Peiu criticized the administration led by Nicușor Dan on Friday afternoon after Eurostat announced that Romania had recorded the largest increase in electricity and gas prices.
In a public statement, the senator argued that responsibility for the economic situation lay with the “Nicușor Dan regime,” which he described as the regime that presided over “reaching the lowest point of the country’s post-revolutionary period.”
Petrișor Peiu’s statement came after the publication of Eurostat data on energy price developments in Romania. According to the information presented by the senator, Romania ranks first in the European Union in terms of the increase in electricity and gas prices.
The statement represents a political position taken by the AUR Senate leader and a direct criticism of Nicușor Dan. In his message, Peiu provided no further details about the factors that led to the tariff developments, nor did he propose concrete measures that the authorities should adopt. Energy price developments remain one of the main topics of public debate, affecting households and companies.
