The Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Daniel, made an appeal on Sunday for support for the mosaic painting works of the National Cathedral, emphasizing that, although the painting has been consecrated, the works are not yet fully completed. He mentioned that there are still parts of the Cathedral covered with cloth, where there are temporary representations of saints, and that the walls of the Chapel and the icons of the recently canonized Romanian holy women need to be painted.
The Patriarch urged the faithful to contribute financially, encouraging them to mobilize others in this regard. Since the beginning of the works in 2010, approximately 270 million euros have been invested in the Cathedral complex, of which 27 million come from the Patriarchate's own funds. The works will continue until 2027.
