Sector 3 City Hall authorized apartment blocks on land proposed for a park in Pallady, following a vote by the Local Council

Sector 3 City Hall issued four building permits for apartment blocks on approximately 5,000 square meters of the 2.46-hectare plot proposed for the development of a park in the Drumul Gura Crivățului–Theodor Pallady area. The documents were issued both before and after the Local Council’s July 15 vote approving the initiation of the land expropriation procedure.

Residents from the Pallady Civic Initiative Group reported the permits and complained that work had begun on the site. Representatives of the PNL and USR parties in Sector 3 are demanding explanations from Mayor Robert Negoiță, accusing the administration of authorizing apartment blocks on land intended for green space. According to PNL councilor Cătălin Moldoveanu, two permits were issued before the vote and another two in August.

Sector 3 City Hall maintains that the land is privately owned and that it could not refuse to issue the permits in the absence of a decision by the General Council of Bucharest regarding the expropriation. Deputy Mayor Adrian Cocoș said the procedure has not been finalized and that the situation will be reassessed. The General Council has not yet approved the expropriation.
