Sector 3 Mayor Robert Negoiță announced that work on the Pantelimon water park is nearly complete and that all of the complex’s systems have been tested. In a video posted on Facebook, the mayor said the aquapark is expected to open for Sector 3 students starting October 1, provided the deadline set by the administration is met.
The complex includes a bar, sun loungers and relaxation areas, in addition to its aquatic facilities. The Sector 3 City Hall’s investment amounted to 216 million lei. In May, the Local Council approved the final funding installment, worth 43 million lei.
Management of the park was concessioned for 35 years to Aquaventura Water Park Spa SRL, established during the tender process, according to Buletin de București. The minimum concession fee is €403,900 annually, excluding VAT, while the operator is expected to pay approximately 4.2% of the revenue generated.
The publication also reported commercial ties between the concessionaire’s company manager and a firm that purchased a property from a company controlled by the Negoiță family. Coming amid the final checks, the project is set to open to the public once access conditions have been established.
