According to a survey conducted by eJobs Romania, 41.3% of employers have maintained their recruitment plans set at the beginning of 2026, despite the negative economic context.

20.2% were forced to completely freeze hiring, while 18.3% reduced their recruitment volume by 10%-25%. The negative impact on human resources strategies was felt by 50% of respondents, with most mentioning a decrease in consumption and purchasing power.

Additionally, 39.6% of employers maintained salary budgets, and 30.8% implemented salary increases to compensate for inflation. Regarding recruitment, nearly half of the respondents are opening positions only for replacements, while 22.6% are recruiting for critical positions. Employers are looking for candidates with adaptability skills and autonomy, in a fragile market with uncertainties.

The survey was conducted on a sample of 150 companies, including specialists in human resources and entrepreneurs.
