The 'Henri Coandă' International Airport in Bucharest has implemented two new counters, meaning four additional document control posts, to improve the processing capacity of non-Schengen arrivals. This expansion is part of the operationalization of the Entry/Exit System (EES), which uses alphanumeric and biometric data to register the entries and exits of citizens from third countries. CNAB emphasized that this measure will help reduce waiting times and create a more efficient flow at border control, now having a total of 7 counters available.
Additionally, CNAB announced a tender for the rental of space for the installation of 7 charging stations for electric vehicles in the North Parking – P7 of the airport. The tender will take place on March 18, 2026, and the rental contract will be valid for 5 years. The project aims to meet the growing needs of passengers and partners who own electric vehicles and is part of the airport's infrastructure development strategy and carbon footprint reduction.
