The Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB) has introduced automated access at the public car parks of Henri Coandă and Băneasa airports for vehicles transporting people with reduced mobility (PRM), the company announced on Wednesday. The facility allows entry without a ticket and without paying for parking through automatic license plate recognition, provided that a valid PRM card is available.
To activate access, beneficiaries or their representatives must send the beneficiary’s or legal representative’s name, the card details, the license plate number and contact details to [email protected]. The information is entered into a database connected to the LPR system, and the barrier opens automatically after the data is verified.
The original PRM card must be displayed visibly at the front of the car while using the car park. Any change to the license plate number or extension of the card’s validity must be communicated to CNAB at least 48 hours in advance.
If the number is not recognized, users can use the intercom at the barrier, and car park staff will check the situation and authorize access.
