A 55-year-old chief orthopedic-traumatology doctor from the 'Floreasca' Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors, accepting a sentence of 2 years and 6 months in prison with suspension. He was investigated for two counts of bribery, being accused of receiving 600 euros from the relative of a patient operated on between February 21-24, 2025, and 2,200 lei from a patient operated on June 27, 2025.
Doctors have instituted precautionary measures for the confiscation of the amounts received as bribes. Additionally, the defendant has been placed under judicial control, and the agreement must be approved by a judge from the Bucharest Tribunal.
