Orange Romania and Vodafone Romania have announced that they will implement a 6.8% increase in subscription prices, starting from April 2026, with the next bill. Orange justifies this measure by the impact of inflation, which was 8.6% in December 2025, and emphasizes that the indexing complies with contractual provisions. The company mentioned that it has not applied any price changes until now, despite the rising operational costs.
Vodafone, on the other hand, stated that the price increase is necessary to maintain the quality of services, considering the constant rise in costs. Romania ranks first in the EU in terms of inflation rate, which has led to these price adjustments. In 2025, the average annual inflation was 9.7%, and telecommunications companies are facing significant challenges in this economic context.
