A driver under the influence of alcohol, from Bucharest, detained for outrage, hit a police officer during a check.

A serious incident occurred on the night of April 5 in Bucharest, when a driver hit a police officer during a traffic control. The driver, who had a blood alcohol concentration of over 0.80 g/l, attempted to avoid the stop made by the police, performing a sudden maneuver that led to the injury of the officer.

The police officer suffered injuries that require 7-8 days of medical care. The Prosecutor's Office next to the Court of Sector 1 has opened an investigation, and the driver was detained for 24 hours, being accused of assault and driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. On Tuesday, prosecutors requested the court to place the man in preventive custody for 30 days, and the court is set to rule on the request.
