Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu stated that the decision regarding the reduction of budgetary expenditures must be made quickly, considering the blockage within the coalition. She emphasized that Romania cannot afford to continue borrowing to cover losses. Regarding the reform of state-owned companies, Gheorghiu mentioned that the process is underway, with financial analyses and meetings with the relevant ministries and companies.

The Deputy Prime Minister criticized the allocation of budgetary funds without accountability and insisted on the introduction of strict budgetary discipline. Gheorghiu highlighted the importance of professionalizing the boards of directors for good governance. The success of the reform depends on political support and the implementation of correct performance indicators.
